Hello. My name is Jessica. I am going in tomorrow to have a biopsy done and to schedule my hysterectomy. I have one very large fibroid that is taking up about half my uterus. So biopsy tomorrow, and a date to set. Within the next month or so. I am so very scared. No woman in my family had ever had anything like this done. I have looked around the site here and I have gotten lots of good info. Also some very good questions for my doctors.
I am just feeling my nerves right now.
It its all a little much for me. I went to the doctor in January for my yearly and everything was great, except for the crime scene bleeding and horrible cramps. I was supposed to have an ablation. I moved so it did not get done. I went to a new doctor about 4 weeks ago. He sent me to ultrasound to see how big my uterus is for the ablation. Turns out I have a fibroid that is about the size of a grapefruit. Now I am having my uterus and cervix removed. Laprocroscopic(sp) vaginal assist hysterectomy. That its what my doc is going to do. I have tons of questions for him tomorrow.

This website has been a godsend. I had my Vaginal Hyst. on July 27th and I'm so glad I did. I already feel better from my pre-hyst symptoms and I am recovering very well. Other than gas pains still, once in a while I have no complaints.

Welcome, Jessica. My hyst is for the same reason - one very large uterine fibroid. They tell me the size of a five month pregnancy, but I can't quite picture how big that actually is. All I know is that I *look* five months pregnant, and I can't wait until I don't anymore!
