cramping

I have been so nervous about my upcoming hysterectomy. I have never had any surgery before and the thought of anesthesia scares me. But today, I am hurting bad enough to be ready. My period started and since my surgery is only 3 days away the only thing I can take for pain is Tylenol. It isn't helping any at all. I really need to be getting laundry done and the housework caught up but I just feel like crawling up into a ball. I am sorry to be such a downer. On the up-side, I guess this is my last period!

PMBF - I was where you are just four weeks ago - scared and didn't know what to expect. All I can say is that I am four weeks post op now, and feel really good. Actually, better than I have in a really long time. I had a TAH on June 18th, and today went to the driving range with DH, and hit a few balls. Not great, just some stretching to start to get back in shape. I had huge fibroids (2 were over 5 inches each). And Adenomyosis, and felt crappy for a couple years with heavy bleeding. So now, no more periods, and no more bulging belly. My advice is to try to relax (not easy, we all know). And allow yourself to be a princess - truly. Be a big baby - its good for us! And in four weeks, I'm guessing you are going to feel like a new woman! I'll think happy thoughts for you when you go to the Castle!

Thank you for your responses. It is good to know that there are other people who were just as scared as I am that have made it to the other side. At this point I can't even imagine how I will feel the morning that I enter the castle doors.

Pmbf- I also got my period 3 days before my period, but for once I did not have cramps(guess my uterus was scared) but I did get my hormonal migranes. I was unable to take anything for it either, so I had to suffer. It was aweful, I got one three days before when my husband took me out and I got one the day before...they both lasted all day long....so I was not able to get stuff done like I wanted...don't worry, nobody is going to care what your house is going to look like. The heck with the housework, just remember that your goal now is to be the princess!!
