Re: Pre op 2 weeks out - acceptance and crying

The doctor's office called yesterday and canceled my december 3 date. They are trying to fit me in sometime that same week or I will wait for December 23rd. december 23'rd sounds awful, but at the same time a great christmas present. I just don't know. I've left two voicemails trying to get a confirmed date down so I can let my employer know the dates I'll be away and then I'm mad at myself for worrying about employer more than what I'm about to go through. As if this is something cosmetic and not necessary. I keep thinking of how this affects everyone else in my life. I'm really trying to keep my cool, but I just want to have a surgery date so i can properly obsess over it.

Veeroni24 mine is the same day! I did the same thing with my pain pills. I stopped taking them for a few months and let me tell you I was miserable. Its real pain not in our heads.

Hello ladies!! I have 5 children, and I felt very sad when I found out that my Uterus would be gone, so I think that's a very normal emotion to have. I will tell you, though, that you will feel sooooooo much better after your surgery. No more bleeding, no more pain. I'm 2 weeks post-op today, and alreday I'm very happy that I had my TAH done. Hang in there, you will be fine!!

i finally got a surgery date. i feel SO much better about it now that I lost my date temporarily. I suppose life works like that. I'm happy to have 22 days instead of 9. Even though I'm in pain and totally uncomfortable, it gives me more time to make lots of lists and plan. And I will have my last period somewhere in there. I guess we should probably part on good terms.

Re: Pre op 2 weeks out - acceptance and crying

Charmcharm,

I am scheduled the day after you, and I am also 47. I found this site about a week ago. I felt like I was going to be an "IT" without my female parts. I felt scared and alone until now. I am still scared but not alone, and neither are you.

I always wait until the last minute to go to the doctor. I am just short of showing up at ER when I decide to go. I have put myself in a miserable situation with my health. I guess I need this to reinforce following through with my decision. I think if the doctor called right now and said come in let's do it...I would go. If I wasn't in pain and everything running out of me, I'd probably put it off.

I hope you will be at peace soon. I would like to know how you are doing.

Evie
