Yup, sounds funny but you're right. Those conditions are not ideal for quick healing.

Re: vaginal cuff didn't heal

Hmmm...I wasn't aware that we weren't suppose to be bending, reaching, driving, doing dishes....I've been doing all those things after about a week post op (I even vaccumed...). My surgery was on Feb. 20th. I have been bleeding since the surgery though, it's not heavy, but it requires more than just a panty liner. Now I'm a little worried that maybe I'm not healing, especially since I've been so "active". Even though I feel great, practically like I didn't have any surgery done :/ Maybe I should call the Dr. to check it out?

I know what you mean.
I was always very athletic and active before my surgery.
It was really hard to just STOP and allow my body to heal properly.
why are you driving? I don't remember when I was allowed to drive...probably at 3 weeks. The stops, starts, and turns of maneuvering the steering wheel and/or stick shift can inhibit the healing process.

Do not bend and reach too much! No reaching down in the dishwasher, or putting away things that are in the upper and lower cabinets. No sweeping and mopping, definitely no cleaning!
Do not carry more than 5 or 6 pounds. This is about the size of a medium light weight frying pan. Ditto for your purse. Clear out all unnecessary items and use a lighter, smaller one.

You do need to call the doctor and let him or her know.
You may need a check up to see why you are still bleeding.
You may be re-injuring yourself everyday you are doing too much.
Stop and rest! Call your doctor. It is hard, but you need to heal.

I've had to drive a few times to bring my kids to my mother-in-laws or my grandmas or my mothers, in order for them to watch them for me. I've also went shopping a couple times with my 3 year old to get a few things for the kids to do while being tied to the house. My husband works and is the main source of our income, so I can't really expect him to stay home. So I don't have any other way to get the kids to someone else's house in order for them to help out with me, so I've been driving...

Oh dear.
Is there a friend that you can ask? Maybe if you offer to pay for gas. Call in a babysitter to help.
Do you live near family members?
Please be careful.
Also, do not pick up your 3 year old.
Have her crawl onto your lap only.

Re: vaginal cuff didn't heal

Suziq55-
There really isn't anybody else to help me out, they all work! And I don't have a regular babysitter...our sitter is our families, but they also work, so it's off and on.
I definitely don't pick up my 3 year old because she's literally the size of a 6 or 7 year old (she's huge!!!) but it's my 18 month old that gives me the problems. Just changing diapers is hard enough to try not to lift him. Same with getting him dressed. He can climb up into the car and get in his seat, so I don't have to lift him there, but it's still hard NOT to give him a boost or lift him a little.

Re: vaginal cuff didn't heal

After trying Estrace and pelvic rest for a mth, I needed more stitches to fix the cuff. Had it done yesterday. Biggest pain was all the hrs of Pre op stuff and not knowing if the new stitches will take. Will keep you updated... My surgeon could see 1 centimeter of mesh w the skin healed around it. No bleeding, just yellow spotting. Crossing fingers this works Will update again when I know more!!

Re: vaginal cuff didn't heal

Rest up, sisters!
In order to heal the rest is necessary.
It is hard to do, but worth it.

Good Luck!
