Lump next to incision?

My incisions have been healing quite nicely. Tonight the belly button one was a little achy, so I was feeling around it a little, pretty much for the first time, and noticed ther is a hard lump extending off the left side of it about 1/2". The right side is normal. I'd noticed the left side was raised right after surgery, but my whole belly button area looked funny, so I didn't think much of it. Is a hard spot *next to* an incision normal?

Re: Lump next to incision?

I have it on my left incision and belly button as well. I'm 11 days post op. when he did my laproscopic exploratory two years ago it was the same thing. I think it's part of healing so personally I say don't worry I remember I asked him last time and he said not to worry. Hope his helps.

Re: Lump next to incision?

I've had that since day 1 around one of my incisions and the while time it's felt like something wants to "pop out" of that incision! Dr said its nothing to worry about unless it shows signs of infection and that will eventually go away.
