Six months post hysterectomy and still not feeling like myself
Well, it has been six months since I was at the castle. Seems like yesterday and seems like a life time ago. So, since my operation, I have had an MRI and now getting ultrasounds. I was told that I might have scare tissue which is causing me a lot of weird pains. Anyone having issues with that? I am still tired a lot. Little energy. Just have not felt like myself. A friend had surgery two weeks after me and she feels and looks great. It has been six months. Why can't I get it together? I go to work, take care of the kids and house and still just don't have the energy. Oh yeah, hot flashes are ridiculous as well. Gained back a lot of weight. Just don't have the motivation to diet and want to. I am kinda bummed about this. Anyone out there that can talk to me about some of these issues, I would highly appreciate it.
Give a shout out please!

Re: Six months and still not feeling like myself
Nice to meet you!
I am almost 10 months post op and I still don't feel like myself.... and you know what, that is perfectly alright-we all recover differently. In my case, my surgery took several hours as the gyn oncologist was dealing with Stage IV endometriosis so there was a lot of dissecting involved (sorry to be so graphic). My body has been through alot of trauma so I have to be patient and allow it time to recuperate.
When you mention scar tissue, did you have endometriosis?
As far as your energy level goes or lack of, have you had your thyroid levels checked lately? I recently had a complete physical and was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid) and am now taking medication for it.
To be honest, I now feel worse than I did before my surgery in some ways. I had swollen fallopian tubes and a very high CA-125 level but no symptoms. Shortly after having everything removed (as they suspected cancer) I am now dealing with joint/muscle pain in my shoulders, upper arms, neck, wrists and ankles as well as I was recently diagnosed with plantar faciitis and the podiatrist feels that this could also be hormonal. So you are not alone in this journey.... I am getting full body massages and I will be pursuing physiotherapy in hopes of finding relief. I continue to take my recovery one day at a time and I am thankful or the support of my sisters that make up this community.
Take care
