UTI - Kidney infection Question

Is it possible that I am just NOW getting a kidney infection? My surgery was on 6/24/08 and I have generally been feeling great.
Well starting 2 days ago I started having left side pain. Not terrible, but similar to that when I ovulate. Looking at the calendar that might actually be true. The only thing is that 4 weeks ago I had the same pain (same side) for a day at my time of ovulation. I used to only have the left ovary pain every other month.
Anyway...the pain has since moved to my back, on my left side. It is so annoying that I had trouble sleeping. I actually took 600 mg of ibuprofen, but no relief. I just couldn't get comfy.
I am not running fever, but do feel a bit nauseas. I also know I haven’t been drinking enough water, I seem to crave tea. And then I have go to the bathroom every 30 minutes.
I guess what I am asking with this long winded post is should I call my Gyn or my GP? I have my 6 week appointment next Tuesday and wonder can it wait.

I have a kidney problem, and what you're describing sounds like it could possibly be kidney/bladder related. Either of your Dr's can order a urine culture that will show if you have an infection and it also tells which antibiotic the infection responds to. Just ask that it be done.
