How long is tipicle to be on pain meds afer a vh? I am 10 days post op and still in a considerable amount of pain. explaned before that I can not take anti infammitory. I knew that i would be out of pain meds today so I called in a refil around 5 am (was Up). THe Dr. Did not wright the prescription for any refills, so they said they woiuld call Dr. and it would be ready around 3. Well 3:40 and the Dr. Office is closed and the refill was not called in. I hope they will be open on Saturday. I will take extra strengh tylenol, I hope it does work. I am a little worried that I am going to be in extreme pain tonight with nothing. I hope not!

You can call the office and leave a message with the answering service to page the doctor. Just make sure you have the pharmacy info ready when he calls back.

I had a LAVH with BOS and post. and ant. repair the same day as you. I am still taking Motrain 800 mg. at least once a day and some advil too.... I did not take my pain med cause in the past they have made me sick and so I wish I was near you and would send you my bottle LOL Seriously I would call the Dr. on call at the hospital and find out what to do if you get in pain..... pain is not good and could set back you healing process....... good luck and let us know how it goes....I'll say a prayer for a painfree night for you!!!!!

thank you, I just paged the Doctor.
I wish I could take Motrin. I have chrons disease and I can not take any of that, I posted under pain earlier about pain in the Morning before bm. I am hoping I am not going into a flare. The hospital gave me w doses of anti inflammitory without me knowing it. My chart said chrons but did not say anything about motrin. Any way..... I am hoping for the best.
Hope everyone is healing well thatnk you for your replyies.

I had a TAH/BSO on June 30th and been on pain meds till last week. I was still taking percocets and oxycontins because of my incison still being open and packed but its not unusual to be on pain meds for at least a month after surgery
