Yup - my husband always looked after the dogs while I took care of the cat - now he's running the whole menagerie and doing almost all the housework. I still need to teach him the financial management part just so he has that life skill in case I'm ever unable to do it for any reason...

He was dealing really well with everything until an incident last night where I think all the pressure and stress got to him a bit. I'm hoping my sickness and recovery period doesn't start to put stress fractures on our marriage or his well-being.

Partners go through a lot alongside us from such a different angle. I'm always trying to be mindful of keeping things feeling as normal as possible, staying positive and having regular conversations that don't always revolve around what's been happening with me. Think I'll browse this site to see if there's any info on 'how to support your partner through your recovery period'

That is so true. I have been trying hard to interact as normal but my DH has been wonderful. Working full time and doing the girly housework as well as his normal stuff. He has been so supportive. I am not sure how to thank him and how to keep him encouraged.

I replied in your other thread too. I hope you are ok.
