so easily freaked out these days...

okay, so i'm going on three weeks postop from an LSH.

everything has been fairly smooth, with only a few painful days that had me worried.

now i'm back to the worried stage. for the past two or three days i've had a dull, sort-of crampy ache in my lower abdomen. starts around belly button high, almost from hip to hip, and then goes down from there. i get occasional sharp pains. moving isn't wonderful, and (since i'm a tummy breather) breathing is uncomfortable at times, too. i don't have trouble breathing, but it doesn't feel good, either.

i haven't done any heavy lifting. i have been driving, shopping, had a class monday morning - basically normal life for me. i don't THINK i've overdone anything, though. still trying to remember to be careful and all that jazz.

anyone know what this might be? i keep telling myself it's normal healing, etc....but something feels weird. i can't put my finger on it, and THAT makes me edgy. LOL

i plan on calling my doc in the morning, but the 'advice nurse' has been everything but helpful so far, so thought i'd check in with you wonderful ladies first.

Re: so easily freaked out these days...

At 3 weeks doing shopping is not a good idea. I had a LSH in October. I tried to be a big girl and do a little shopping after 20 minutes it felt like my insides was going to fall out. Try not to do a lot. Try not to do anything but rest for a couple of days and see if it doesn't subside. I did have the dull cramping but it went away after a couple of days of nothing but rest.

Re: so easily freaked out these days...

Kishey is right, I was fine until I started shopping and running a few errands. My first trip to the grocery at 3 weeks post op, I was in so much pain 15 minutes into it that I had to pay for what I had and leave. The doctor is not kidding when they say it is a 6 week recovery. Take it easy. Which I know is hard to do when you feel okay. I found that even though I thought I was taking it easy my body told me when I wasn't. Listen! You'll be better off in the long run.

Re: so easily freaked out these days...

I am freaked out right now with you. I am 5 weeks post op and the Dr said light housework is OK, just no lifting. So I did a quick little mop on the floors this morning and I am noticing some pain that I have not felt before. DH will kill me, he has been lecturing me for the past week on doing too much. I have not had pain in over a week and I just popped 2 aleve. So you never know. We need to work hard at not over doing it. Dr. said things will be healing for atleast 3 months even though we can start back into normal activities before then so we need to be careful.
