I'm finally home

Well I made it. I had my TAH/BSO on March 8. All went very well. No complications. The night before I had a real panic attack and almost called the whole thing off. My DH was very supportive and talked me through it. The day of surgery I arrived at the castle at 10:30. Everything went pretty quickly from then on. My surgery was schedule for 12:30 but everyone was ahead of schedule and it began at 12:00. I don't remember much except being very calm (probably from the drugs they gave me). I had a general and only remember getting on the operating table (it was nice and warm). The next thing I remember is a nurse telling me it was all over. It took an hour and a half and the fibroid they removed was much bigger than they tought (size of a football). I was in recovery for an hour then taken to my private room (thanks to my DH's perserverence). I was there for three days and went home on Sunday, March 11. Actually I went to my mom's house where she took very good care of me for the last week and a half. I'm glad to be home now with my DH and DS's. To all you LIW the waiting is the HARDEST part. Best of luck to all of you. Thanks to all the sisters that have supported me though this scary time. I could not have done it without you.

I made it too!

I had my operation on March 7 (Wednesday), after a 2 week delay because I was sick. Anywhoo, I'm glad you got through it in fine shape. I too was worried and thought about calling the whole thing off, but the pros, outweighed the cons. My doctor was amazed at how good I was doing. He was going to let me go home the next day around 5:00 p.m. But because I had no "ride" home at that time, he let me stay till the next day. (He would have let me stay longer if I had wanted ... but who wants too!!!). The only compaint I have now is ... how long can a person go without a BM ... without popping?! I read (in the Uncle John's Bathroom Reader ... no pun intended) where some poor soul hadn't gone for a 102 days!!!!! HAHAHA. Keep in touch!
