swollen legs

I'm 3 months post op TAH and still having problems with incredible swelling in my legs and ankles as well as a stretching pain behind my knees. Any ideas?

I'm sorry you're experiencing this swelling.

You say "still" ~ have you spoken to your doctor previously about this? I'm afraid I wouldn't like to try to guess at what might be causing it and would encourage you to visit your doctor.

dear anort, I had trouble with edema too about a year ago. it can be caused by any number of things (including high salt intake). As always pooodle is completely correct and you should talk to your doc. you might want to go to your GP since there are so many different issues that could be causing it.

I cut back on salt and took diuretics for a month. it seemed to flare up for me around ovulation and period so i am hoping the hyster is going to help....

Thanks for your replies. They are worse after work, then if I take a day or two off and rest them and keep them up while in bed they're ok. I did start diuretics but I don't want to rely on them. This mostly started when I started work again and I waited 8 weeks before going back. Have you ever heard of the pain, like a stretching pain, behind the knees?
