Is this normal?

My hysto was Jan. 19, 2009 and I still sometimes have a mild pulling or sharp pain in my incision area. Is this normal? My doctors cleared me a long time ago and said everything looked fine. Just wondering if something is wrong. Thanks

Re: Is this normal?

Hi Shena,

I had pulling and twinges in my incision area for close to a year. It was also quite numb for a long time. For me, yeah it was normal. Don't hesitate to give your doctor a call. Best to have him/her check things out just to be sure it is normal for *you*.

Re: Is this normal?

Since my hysterectomy surgery I had severe pelvic and lower back pain and pulling sensation in the front pelvic area where the ovaries were, that only worsened. It was disabling. I just had a second surgery to remove adhesions (the cause of the "pulling" feeling) and endometriosis which my doctor left in me for no good reason, just lazy! My organs were stuck together and nodules and adhesions had formed due to the hematoma and severe echymosis and ruptured incision and sutures I had because the hospital and my doctor let me vomit for four hours after my surgery and I had terrible post op complications. It took over two years to find a new do tor who beleived me when I described the "pulling" feeling and pain and took action to try to fix me. Several doctors told me the feeling was "normal" after a hysterectomy. Don't believe them.

Re: Is this normal?

Mine is not severe and it only happens sometimes. I didn't throw up and I don't think my stitches ruptured. I did have a hematoma that they told me was reabsorbed. I do hope it is nothing. I do have a problem with trusting doctors now with all the problems that I had and different opinions by my doctors.
Beller5 I hope everything is fixed for you now and that you won't have any more pain or complications. Good Luck to you.
