Surgery cancelled!

Went in for my Pre-op today only to be told that it had been canceled along with all in-patient surgeries due to budget cuts. I'm so dang frustrated!
It's a charity hospital and I've been advised to call another hospital and set up an appointment with a doctor I've never seen before. I've known my doctor for 13 years and that makes it doubly frustrating!!
Just needed to vent now that I'm stuck in limbo. Thanks for listening ladies. (:

Oh no - my heart goes out to you. When you have a chance to mentally prepare for a certain date - I can only imagine how devastating that would be to have it cancelled.

Hoping you get resolution soon.

I'm sorry this has happened. Let me try to give you some hope that maybe it isn't no but just not now. See if you can find out when their budget year runs. It is possible you fell victim to the end of the year budget crunch. If that is the case see about rescheduling for early in the new fiscal year. Doesn't help right at this moment but maybe it gives you some hope.

I am sorry this happened. I know it is upsetting to have surgery cancelled. I like to think things happen for a reason. My surgen "broke up" with me a few weeks before surgery without a good excuse. Long story short...I was referred to a dr I liked better and more skilled. I did have minor complications that new dr was able to handle because of his experience.

Sorry to hear about this. Might not hurt to find out if possible if it the end of the year for them. That might explain why they cancelled. Sometimes we just fall victim to something outside our control
