LAVH: Surgery 10/17 and no one will be with me before surgery

I want to wish you the best and hope all goes well. I am sorry you must go in alone. My husband will be coming with me and I am grateful for that. I keep hearing it is no big deal from some friends, but I am trying to ignore them. Some people just are not compassionate or just don't know what to say. Just remember many of your fellow hyster sisters will be thinking of you on that day.

Thanks everyone! My hubby took the day off work after all...he didn't want me to be alone.
Now if I could just make a decision about this ovary....

I'm so happy he's taking the day off to support you!!!!

Hi - I am sorry that some people have minimized what you are going through, I know that this is never an easy decision and after all it is surgery. I know what its like to be there for everyone else and not feeling like they return the favor. Don't feel bad for asking people to help you as sometimes people don't know what you need unless you ask. If no one is there for you in person know that there are many women on this forum who can relate and are walking/or have walked a mile in your shoes. I hope that the hospital you will be staying in has some emotional support - a volunteer, clergy who can be that bright face you may need.

Hang in there and know whatever decision you make in regard to your ovaries will be the right decision for you, don't second guess yourself you know how you feel and this surgery is about taking care of you!!!

Yea, I am so happy for you that your support will be there! You must have a huge sigh of relief.

I am so so happy for you. The physcial and emtional support that you need is now there. Bless you and your husband.

I also was alone from before the surgery through my hostipal stay. I'll pray for you! You are not truly alone! Those who can't be there are thinking of you and the hospital staff can be wonderful.
