TAH: All I can think right now is... I'M HUNGRY!!

Yes- I know it seems frivolous and silly but I'm hungry. After 2 days of full liquids and NOW all I am allowed is clear liquids...I'm just HUNGRY. Lol. It's ok-- laugh with me. Because it just makes the stress of Tuesday seem so small when all I want is a BIG fat CHEEEEEESEBURGER!!! LOL!

Anyways, just wanted to add something light and not so serious to the board for now... be back soon!

LOL.... I had to do the clear liquids for 48 hours prior to my operation too. On the good note, the anesthesia was not a problem for me and I think the fasting had a lot to do with that.

I'm going in 2 days and no-one has said anything about a liquid diet

I only had to bowel prep last time, no fasting. Will see if I'm headed of a liquid diet this time around. I don't know if I can do it. My stress is coming out in I want to shove everything I see in my mouth. One more day for you and keep telling yourself its for your health.

All surgeons are different. Some do liquid diet, some have bowl prep etc etc... Just follow what your surgeon requests and you will be fine. I would recommend eating healthy/lightly to help with nausea.

Warm chicken broth was good when I got really hungry!!!
Make sure you are getting plenty of clear liquids, 7up, gingerale,sprite,

I haven't been told to have liquids only or do a bowel prep before my TLH. Did I miss something? Yikes!

I think every surgeon is different, I'd give your dr. A call and ask.

Does it have to due with which style of Hysterectomy you are having? Robotic or Lapo, or adominal??
