TLH Has anyone else developed a hernia after Total laparoscopic hysterectomy?

About 3 months after Davinci TLH, I started noticing a bump that would come and go near the scar just below my ribs. Sometimes this "bump" would get as big and hard as an egg. It never seemed to be there when I could get to doctor's office for him to check it (I went once in March and it wasn't there). So now it's there most of the time (5 months post surgery, and he confirmed it's a hernia (he was able to push it back in - but it was only temporary, as later it was back out). He said I could live with it, and just push it back in (which really grosses me out) or I could have surgery. I'm so frustrated as my TLH surgery was a mess (took 7 hours, I lost a lot of blood, my BP went down to 35/65 and I was in ICU for 2 days, even though I was completely healthy and not on any meds).
I know I want to get the hernia fixed, but I'm scared, but I'm only 52 and don't want to deal with this for the rest of my life. SOS.
Can anyone give me some guidance on this? Is it really a simple procedure? Has anyone else had this done?

I ended up with an umbilical hernia from a lap procedure I had done in my 20's it wasn't bad and my dr fixed it when she did my hysterectomy
