Will they cancel my surgery if I'm sick?

Hi I just knew this would happen! Started with sinus pressure and nasal congestion two days ago, my surgery is 5:30 Monday and I'm feeling rough with sinus pain, ear pain, and fits if severe sneezing. No fever though. I just got over the same thing two weeks ago that required antibiotics.
I just can't reschedule this, it's been arranged at my job for 4 months now and I would have to wait until march if I put it off.
Anyone else battle virus/infection before your surgery? If so did anesthesia give you a hard time?

Re: Will they cancel my surgery if I'm sick?

I would call your dr today and ask. Hope you feel better and you can have the surgery as planned.

Re: Will they cancel my surgery if I'm sick?

I have been taking Zicam on and off for two weeks now trying to keep myself healthy. I get chronic sinus infections so I know where you are coming from. Crossing my fingers for you!

Re: Will they cancel my surgery if I'm sick?

I was cancelled 24 hours before surgery in September. No fever, but I was coughing, ear ache, etc. Turned out I had bronchitis, and I wasn't able to get ride of that cough for nearly 5 weeks. I know how awful it is to reschedule, but they will not touch you with any indication of respiratory illness. You don't want them to, anyway. Violent sneezing or coughing can cause serious internal problems after this type of surgery. I hope you start feeling better today! I know it's tough rescheduling.
