TMI, passed gas that caused pain.

So I am laying in bed (of course I can't sleep) and playing computer games. I was holding the laptop on my stomach, but holding it up with my fingers, so there was really no pressure on my stomach.

I felt like I had to pass gas, so I kind of "pushed" and passed gas, but then I felt like I had pulled something inside. Like, in the lower right part of my stomach/pelvis.

Now I am having pain in that area. I just took three Ibuprofen but I haven't felt any relief yet.

Wondering if I should call the nurse. . . Is this completely normal?

Re: TMI, passed gas that caused pain.

Doesnt sound normal to me, how soon can you call the nurse?
They will ask you when your last bowel movement was, was it formed or loose, do you take stool softeners, and have you eaten any gassy foods in the last 20 hours.
Pain with gas passing in days 1-5 after surgery is expected, but later than that its best to get a professional opinion.
good luck!
