Re: Having second thoughtsabout TAH BSO

Thanks for eveyone's responses. I talked with my surgical coordinator yesterday and have to be there at 5:30am. I am going to start my bowell prep at noon. This certainly is a great place for support. I'm getting over my jitters and just want to get this over with.
So many pros to consider. No cervical, ovarian,or uterine cancer. No more back pain( I'm a Hairstylist). No More Condoms,Yeah !
Thanks again,
Sunny

Re: Having second thoughtsabout TAH BSO

If you are active and in good health you will heal faster. I am almost at the 4 week mark and feel pretty darn good. If I had not had internal bleeding and needed a second surgery and transfusions the next day, I would probably be fully healed by now. I was full of scar tissue and adhesions too.
Start walking as much as you can as soon as you can (without the dogs at first), take rest breaks/naps as needed, take vitamins every day, drink plenty of water and eat healthy foods. Learn to delegate and say no if you are not up to it, you have others to pick up the slack for a few weeks. In 4 weeks you can be operating at 80% or better and my 80% beats a lot of people's 100%!!
I'm sending you good thoughts.
