Have you considered the MRI-Guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound?
Hi everyone!
I spent the summer looking into the treatment called MRgFUS. For some reason it is rarely discussed by doctors or websites, but it has been around for 10 years and if successful it can preserve the uterus for fertility. There is a very short down time, but you leave the day of the procedure.
I unfortunately do not qualify for this treatment because I have too many fibroids. I have 20, a few 9 cm, but 15 small ones.
I got some great information from some informed people on this site and followed up with my own research and talking to various doctors and staff at clinics and hospitals.
There are many studies being conducted and listed at clinicaltrials dot gov where if you qualify you could end up with a free treatment. Some are double blind so you may not get the treatment the first time around but end up getting it later, and some every participant gets treated. Search for "uterine fibroids AND ultrasound."
You can also search for "uterine fibroids" in that site to see all the other clinical trials for this condition going on.
Good luck. I think it is an important treatment method that should be a part of more discussions.
