Pain on left side - not sure if this is normal?

I had my LAVH on 11/22 and I did have a set back. went for my 2 week check up and was having more of a brownish discharge and it felt as if everything was swollen inside. He said it was due to me doing too much, I took one day and did some shopping but didn't push the shopping carts, my mom did but he said all that walking around was WAY too soon so he put me on the next 2 weeks bed rest only getting up to go to the bathroom and walking a little in my house just to be moving around a little.

Yesterday I started having pain on my left side lower abdomen, it's hurting over from the hip bone going in a bit, it feels as if it's really sore. I do remember though yesterday morning turning over onto my side, I've been dying to sleep on my side but it was a bit uncomfortable after about 10 minutes so I had to return to my back.

Do you think it may be hurting just because I tried laying on my side or do you think something else could be wrong? I don't have much discharge at all anymore so I'm thinking that's a good sign.

Has anyone else had pain to where it's a bit crampy, at first it felt like ovulation pain. I do still have my left ovary and tube but everything else is out. I've been taking 800 ibuprofen plus having to take a pain pill every once in awhile to see if it eases up but it comes right back.

Thanks so much for any info you can give me. this is so frustrating. I'm in my 3rd week now but now wondering if I ruined everything by going to the stores walking that one day!! I do realize now it is true, you only have the one chance to heal so I'm obeying drs orders this time that's for sure!

Re: Pain on left side - not sure if this is normal?

Sounds like you should contact your doctor. With our surgery, our legs are placed in a position that can cause pain after. I had left side groin pain for a few days after. Take it easy and rest.
