Now I even have times and everything

All of the sudden thing are very real for me, it wa almost as if it wasn't really happening until I got those dates and times, and now it is like complete panic. I do have to say that the prospect of this whole bowel prep thing is so not thrilling me, and I'm even less thrilled with the 13.5 hours I'm going to have to go with out any thing to drink. They said NPO after midnight and my surgery isn't scheduled til 1:30 in the afternoon.

I have my pre op appointment on the 26th of Feb.

Hi!
Glad to hear you finally have a date and time. I feel your pain on the time of your surgery. Mine is scheduled for 1:30 in the afternoon as well (2/21). I go for pre-op today at 2:00. I guess I'll find out today if I have to go thru all that bowel prep. I don't think all doctors require it. I'm hoping mine doesn't.

Hi I'm glad that you finally got your date. It is so normal to be nervous, hang in there, the end is in sight.
The bowel prep is not thrilling ( as you said) but it is doable. I'm sorry that you have to go so long with nothing, again - done that , been there. Just keep thinking of a problem free future and that'll help.

Hurray for you!!

I know exactly how you feel. When they give you an actual date and time, it's no longer something you read about. But for me it's something I'm truly looking forward to. I'm scared silly but I know this is the right thing to do. Just stay close to this website--I wouldn't be getting thru this without all these wonderful ladies (God bless each and every one!)
Also, my surgery is scheduled for 1pm too. I have diabetes and was worried about not eating all day. And thanks to this website, after I mentioned how shaky I get, they're having me check in at 7am to start an early IV so I won't get weak.

we'll go through this together!

Hi-
I'm also having my TAH done in Rockford (2/28) and surgery is at 2 pm. At the moment I'm too busy making plans to cover everything at work to have too much time to get very nervous. This surgery thing has, however, taken over my thoughts and focus almost completely.

It dawned on me after I found out the surgery time that I'm going to be real hungry and thirsty (and nervous) waiting all morning! So here's my plan: Big ice cream sundae and several glasses of water at midnight and then a shopping trip in the morning. I'll probably go to the bookstore for reading material and maybe a trip to Sam's (that's always good for a 2 hour diversion). By that time I should be hungry, tired, and grouchy and ready for some anesthesia!

Good luck to you!
