Re: Surgery 12/11 for TVT sling removal (with SF Bay specialist)

Hi guys. Was gone all day. Tomorrow is my Birthday so a friend and I went out to lunch since yesterday was hers. I can't wait to be normal again soon even though I know it will be a while and have to see what I still need to face. I think we all need to learn as much as we can to prevent more prolaspe. I definitely need out the entire sling or I will never be well. Mist44 I hope you find what is going to work for you. I'll email you guys soon after I ask the Dr more questions. ran out of time today......all I know is the mesh will not allow me to be physical at all like a normal person adnd I would have lived a life of taking drugs so no matter what having it removed completely will be the best choice for me. Talk to you soon.

Dear Whatamesh,
I did not know you were a nurse too!!! I have thought about this and probably why so many of us are nurses is because of straining and pulling up patients. We have both a very physical and mental job. How long did your doc say you would be off? You will be on our prayer list and in our thoughts too. Where are you going to have your surgery? I was reading on line about this Dr on line who was putting out a new text book. I saw on his pic gallary my vaginial granuloma. He is in Nashville Tenn Vanderbilt. I have never really heard anything about the place. I emailed him and told him alittle about myself. I was trying to get a feel for if he could help me because if would be a five hour drive. He wrote me back short and sweet would be glad to check me out. Could not treat me until he examined me. I was aliitle disappointed because I was really just wanting to know if he had ever done the surgery before. I hope you have found a good experience doc. Yes it is terrible the we are all suffering from something we should not have to be. It is like my grandmother used to say. Doctors practice medicine and they bury thier mistakes and that is how I feel at this point. I will be thinking of you often whatamesh ruthreb

Re: Surgery 12/11 for TVT sling removal (with SF Bay specialist)

I am so happy to read that there is someone out there who is knowledgable about this problem. I know that giving the name of the MD is is not Allowed. I am trying to find her. Could you send me an e-mail with the doctor's name? I have had 11 surgeries to get rid of this mesh and there is still some left! So far I have seen only male MDs and they are not to well versed in knowing how painful this can be.

Thank you so much. I am trying to stay on the "tigger" end of optimism.

I only know of two surgeons and they are both male. One is in Burlingame, California near San Francisco and the other is in Los Angeles.
Perhaps someone else can give you names (privately) of a female surgeon who does successful mesh removal.

Re: Surgery 12/11 for TVT sling removal (with SF Bay specialist)

This thread has been going on for quite some time and meandered in topic a bit so I'm not quite certain what replies are directed at whom.

I wrote the original post and am very willing to share the name of the surgeon (a urogynegologist) in the Bay Area that removed my sling. If you are interested in the information please send me a private message with your request and I will answer asap.

Best wishes to all looking for relief from the mesh mess.
