Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates July 13-July 19, 2009
My question is...I have my right ovary left. During previous periods, my right ovary would cramp so bad I would bowl over. Right now it is time for my monthly period, and my right ovary is hurting bad! Is this 'phantom' pain, will I get rid of it? Or will I still deal with this junk every month? I know my ovary will still 'function' and ovulate, which is why I opted to keep it...for normal hormonal function. I just don't want this ugly pain every month. Anybody got any ideas??? Please help!!! :/

Re: Question about remaining ovary
I am sorry you are having pain. The ovary may still do what it was doing before the surgery or it may ease up. I would talk to the doctor and see what he suggests.

Re: Question about remaining ovary
I've talked with my dr. and he says it's just my body dealing with healing. LOL He says although I will still feel my ovary when it ovulates, as I did before, the pain that was there when I had a period will be absent. YAY!!! What a wonderful thing to hear! He says I'll only feel ovulation, breast tenderness, and that's it! WOO HOO!
