Post myomectomy 6/3

Hi everyone, I had one of my tumors removed June third. It was in my cavity the drs and I hope that this surgery works otherwise I will have to have hysterectomy.I am so sick rite now and my stomache hurts.I c Dr this Friday.how long did it take u all to recover from myomectomy surgery.I'm going thru it. I had same symptoms before surgery.

Hi CJ - What kind of myomectomy did you have? The recovery time varies.

Hysteroscopic is usually pretty fast recovery. Just follow doctor's orders. If they didn't give you instructions, maybe call the nurse. Typically it's avoid using a tampon or having sex for a while to allow your insides to heal.

If you had laparoscopic or open myomectomy, the recovery is quite a bit longer as you have external inciscions. When I had a laparoscopic myomectomy (robotic assisted), the recovery took a good 2 weeks before I was feeling decent, but went back to work in about 4 weeks. I didn't feel back to normal for about 3 months.

Everyone heals differently, so just listen to your body. I believe all doctors will recommend walking as much as you can and avoiding lifting anything heavier than a paperback book. Basically just take it easy and heal up right the first time.

Good luck and hang in there! You can always have a hysterectomy, so it's good that you tried alternatives first.
