Having a tough day
My sincerest apologies to any woman who didnt have someone in her life somewhere to tell her that she was strong and tough. But put all that aside now because I am here to tell you that you are STRONG and TOUGH. Look back into your life and see all of the things that you have survived and learned from. Women are the essence of all that is strong and good in life. Tell me what other life form can bleed for a minimum of 4 days and still get up and take care of thier day to day life? We have all done it at one time or another. I know I cant be the only one that still took care of life when I had that evil uterus that caused me so much pain and suffering. I did what I had to do to survive. Cramps that felt like they were ripping my pelvis apart and I was still doing the dishes and cooking dinner waiting for that ibuprofen to kick in and take the edge off.
We are all strong!! We just need to take a moment to look at where we have been to know that. Embrace that you are a women and you are pillar! Even when you dont feel strong you still are. What is inside you will always be there if you think about it.

Having a tough day
I agree with so many of these posts! One other thing to remember is that women are COMMUNITY DRIVEN - we take care of our own and never let anyone stumble and fall.
Perhaps the most beautiful thing I have ever seen or been a part of is the RACE FOR THE CURE. More than 10,000 women and their families pulling together. They move as one body, through what would on any other day be a street filled with cars and strangers. No one drops out, everyone finishes. And there is no such thing as a stranger there.
The same is true here. Community does not have to be "in person" but can come anywhere, anytime. This board is awesome in its delivery of support, advice and guidance - and people are not judgemental, bossy or arrogant. They just are - and its reliable and available, 24/7. You cannot ask for more than that.
I have a little "brat" who lives in my head who tries to control my life. When she surfaces, she is hard to ignore - and then she runs off to leave me to clean up the mess. She has done that to me a few times through this process -- but now, before I do anything, I simply say -HOW CRITICAL IS THIS? Look at your task list. How critical is everything on it? If it cannot wait (Groceries for example) can you enlist assistance or time it for your "best" pain time of day? Limit your time out so you can be home resting as much as possible. And yes, open your mouth and ask for help. Its hard to do, but I am guessing you are the first to offer help to your friends - its God's way of repaying you to put those people in your path at this time.
And come here often for support and unconditional affection.
And by the way - I love Ambien. Its mild, helps you sleep without making you feel like some one put little socks on your teeth when you were not looking when you wake up. Tylenol PM is also a nice Over the Counter alternative, though not as strong. Rest, pampering and lots of reassurance that you are loved is in order!
Best of luck to you!

Having a tough day
I'm feeling a little better today. It is so nice to have a place to vent like this and not worry about sounding like a hormonal idiot. I talked to my doctor today, he prescribed xanax for me. He said it will probably help me all around. I've never taken sleeping pills before and don't really want to now, but he thinks the xanax will help me relax a little and sleep better.
Believer1960, I kind of came to that conclusion today on my own about things being here when I recover. My mom asked me why I'm so worried about doing my chores and I told her its because I don't want her and my mother in law seeing my messy house and dirty laundry. It wasn't until I said it out loud that I realized how irrational I was being. I'm going to do what I can and I'll just pick up where I left off when my energy is back again.
I need to brag about my husband a little. I talked to him this morning, after the dr. called about my prescription. I told him how I've been feeling and that I'm so stressed about the things I need to get done around the house. He was a great shoulder to cry on. When I got home from work today he had spent all day, his day off, doing some of the things on my list. It made me feel so good, I cried on his shoulder some more. He is one of the best things I have in my life. So hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be posting from the other side looking for something wonderful I can do to thank my husband for the help he has been.
Thanks again ladies, today was a much better day.

Having a tough day
Waiting really is the harderst part - especially if you're in pain. But even if you feel great, you'll never get everything done. I was in a panic before surgery trying to take care of things at work. I did the most important things there and at home and for myself and we're all doing fine.
It's great that you have a husband and other family members who are willing and able to help. Let them do it and you'll all feel better.
Good luck to you all!
Frances

Having a tough day
I feel your pain sister!! My house is a wreck...get this...I actually took last wk off work to "clean" my house before going to the Castle! Did I do it? NO! Ugh! I'm so anxious, mad at myself, etc. My parents (God Bless them) are coming this weekend. I have got to find the energy to quickly get my house in order. So instead of spending my last weekend prior to surgery resting, I'll be stessing and running around like a nut! Oh well I have big news for my dh, he's going to have to HELP!! LOL
I've read so many encouraging posts here....the main theme seems to be the waiting is the hardest part! I hope that's true. Best wishes, we're going to make it!! Say a prayer for me and I'll do the same for you!!
Cindy 44, no kids, no surgeries, freaking out, but GOD is in control!
