Has this happened to any of you?

Having a LSH Feb 9th becuase of crazy periods that had super short cycles and would last for up to 22 days. In Nov a hysterectomy was decided upon. Now get this, the period I had in Dec was only 8 days. Is this a mind over matter thing? Now that my uterus will be going away, is it 'behaving' or is my mind playing tricks on me? Kind of like when you have a problem with your car, take it to the mechanic and he can't find the problem? Looking forward to my Jan period to see what that is about.

Please let me know!

Has this happened to any of you?

The same thing happened to me. I felt that I was on my period from March'06 until the beginning of September. The month before my scheduled surgery, I had a normal cycle.

Has this happened to any of you?

I do not have long cycles but they have been coming every 3 weeks for about 5 months. My main complaint is the severe cramping, backaches, leg aches, etc. However since my last period in mid December I have not been in too much pain. I am also over the 3 week mark. I'm sure I'll be reminded of all the pain and discomfort shortly when my period arrives. I am not looking forward to it.

Has this happened to any of you?

Hey, what a relief! My periods have been around 15 days long for over a year, then up to 21 days long. About 6 or 7 or those days were heavy, lots of clots, back aches, leg pains and not being able to sit up properly. Then, December and now (on period) not too bad! I am to have a LAVH in April/07 (or sooner). I was thinking, what the heck is happening here. So, it is a relief to hear that others have kinda gone through the same thing ... was almost wondering if I should cancel surgery, but I also have a slight prolapse, too, so am sure it will give me all kinds of grief at some point down the road. Good luck to all.

I would have periods that wouldn't be as bad as some months, but I questioned myself by asking, "how many times does that happen?" and it's usually about once every 3 periods.

The fact that more or less I'm consumed with worrying about my period when it's happening...like where the nearest bathroom is, standing up and feeling like my insides are falling out, even running out of church because I think I'm flooding...was enough for me to make my decision; not to mention I have an overgrowth of all kinds of stuff going on in there.

So yea, some months weren't as bad as others, but why live like that if you don't have to is my motto.

Nope! As soon as my uterus figured out that it was being kicked to the curb, it has gone looneytunes on me! Actually, in a way it's good because I head into my surgery in two weeks with zero (and I do mean zero) regrets. When things are normal for you, remember what it was like a period or two before when you were having real problems - that should fix it for you!

It is kind of like how your hair ALWAYS looks great the day before you are going to go cut it all off! Don't let it fool you and stick to your plan. Better days are coming!

My last period was actually my longest and most painful. I was so relieved when it finished. I'm ready to kick my uterus to the curb!

Mine definitely knows it is in the departure lounge. It (or its little fibroid cronies) has been leading me a hell of a life since before my last period on 26th of December. No bleeding, I'm pleased to say, but breast tenderness, bloating, 57 varieties of pain, bouts of nausea, the concentration span of a cauliflower, etc.

My advice is to stay on course! A similar thing happened to me after I scheduled my surgery. My next two periods were heavy, but not as overwhelming as they had been for over two years. I began thinking that God was trying to tell me something. But then on Christmas Eve my last period started and WOW! I could not EVEN manage it. It was a whopper. So I knew I had definitely made the right decision. My surgery is tomorrow. Stick with your guns.
