adhesions found what could have caused them?

well I know this is a question for my doctor and I will ask him at my post op but I wanted to run it by all you sisters... After surgery I don't remember much of what the doctor told me other then him saying that there was no sign of endometriosis, I had a fibroid, my uterus was slightly enlarged and he found adhesions on my right side as well as my left side. He told me he left my right ovary and tube but removed the left.

I just keep wondering what could have caused the adhesions in the first place. I have no previous surgeries. I do have interstitial cystitis or chronic inflamation of my bladder but as far as I know have never had any major infections other then basic UTI's. I used to get chronic yeast infections though and had a few bacterial infections as a teen.

Also my right side hurts worse then my left which seems odd considering her removed my left side. Could he have removed the adhesions from my right side and could that be the twinges of pain I keep having there?

Just curious of your opinions. I will of course ask my doctor

Thanks so much ladies.

Re: adhesions found what could have caused them?

I was told that adhesions can be from past trauma, such as a high fever when we were younger ( as a child even). I. Thought that sounded strange but I guess it would be possible. Some people develop adhesions easily.
