Core exercises!!!

Has anyone began to do core work outs after their surgery? If so, do you mind sharing your work outs or how you strengthen that area. I am a runner, and i have not been running right since surgery. I was told that I need to regain strength within my core. I ran my first 5k a couple of weeks ago since surgery. My surgery was on March 27, 2010. I had TAH...

After my lavh/bso, my core exercises were pretty limited.

What I discovered was how much my abs were involved when I lifted weights. Even light ones!

Heck, you can even work your abs/core while sitting down. Just by flexing your muscles.

Yoga is also wonderful if you are up for it and your approves.

Whatever you decide, just take it slow. Especially the first few times. I noticed quite a few pinches as I embarked on different things. Not so much intense pain but, if I had done things full force it would have hurt.

BTW, I totally envy you!!! I WISH I had the stamina and knees to run, it's a great workout.

@lookingforasis, thanks for ur reply. I have been flexing abs at desk. My co-worker has a stability ball as a chair that she use to strengthen her abs. Yes, I love the sport. All around benefits for body, mind & soul.
