My post-op

I finaly had mine its just alittle over 3 weeks, DR was on vacation last week. I was glad to be able to see her since Sunday I was in bed allday with pain in my belly button lap incession, it started seeping and has this redness spreading down my belly. DR said I have a skin infection, and put me on antibiotics. She did not put me threw a vaginal cuff exsam, said we would wait untill my 8 week check up, since she had to do so much work in there. We talked about my surgery. Mine was going to be a LAVH. She started with the lap in belly, left ovary looked good but when she went to look at right ovary it was not where it should be.It seems the right tube and ovary had fallen and tucked in behind uterus. So she had to go abdominal. When she lifted uterus up she found my ovary had attached to a main blood vessel. I started bleeding out and needed 4 units of blood. Anyway my 3 hour surgery turned into a 6 1/2 hours.(DH and DD were a wreck not knowing what was going on in OR, DR had to go talk to them in waiting room afterwards) She was able to save my left ovary and tube, to help me threw menopause. The path report on organs showed large cyst on ovary, adhesions to cervice and in uterus and to tube.It turns out that the Nova Sure abalation I had done back in June caused a infection which caused tube to collapse and fall. That procedure was a waist of time and pain. But it also exsplained the right side pain I had been having for 3 months, which they just assumed was the hemoragic cyst on ovary. Now if I can just get rid of this prickly burning skin infection........2 steps forward.....3 steps back. Anyway thats my story

Hi Ladyrose,

That was a long surgery, but I'm happy for you it's behind you and you can now get on with recovery.

You will eventually get to where you're taking more steps forwards than backwards. It does get better...really. Just hang in there and keep the faith.

You have my prayers for healing

Wow Ladyrose you sure had a rough time there. BTW we had our surgeries on the same day. I had a TAH/BSO and my uterus was attached to my abdominal wall. But still no where close to what you've endured. Thank God for bringin you through and my prayers are with you concerning the infection. My next dr appointment is nov 7th I'm hoping all is well, I've been doing a little more this week, having healin pains but feel good physically.

Sending a your way.

Take care,
Dee
