1 Day Approved Why?

Hi
I am new here not good at writting so sorry. I am shedual for my TAH on 6-30-04. I just got my letter from my Insurance Company on this letter is said that I was approved for 1 day from 6-30-04 to 7-01-04 So that is not even 24 hours is it. I know that I am not first for the day I am going in second. So should I ask them or call my DR office. I don't know. I don't want to get kicked out before I am ready to leave. So SAD.

I would call your dr.'s office and your insurance company. I don't think your insurance company would want to be liable for any wrongdoing if you become violently ill. I would see what your dr. says about it.

Good Luck!

What kind of hysterectomy are you having?

I work for a major health insurer. Call the number on the front of your insurance identification card as soon as you can. Tell them you don't understand, and they'll explain the policy to you. Then call your doctor and talk to him or her about the situation.

I hope you get this resolved. Good luck.

I think it depends on the type of procedure you are having. It wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it though. I was approved for 3-4 days.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. When I called the insurance company, they explained it to me that they want the hospital to contact them and keep them up to date, so the hospital has to call and get approval for any additional days. The woman I spoke to assured me they wouldn't kick me out on my butt.
