Lupron

Hi,

I am new to the board and wondered if anyone here has used lupron in the past. I had a LAVH and removal of left ovary and tube on July 11th. My doctor was able to leave my right ovary and tube because of of the endo was concentrated on the left side. She would like for me to take lupron for a year to suppress ovulation to try to prevent endo stimulation. If you have used lupron I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Lupron

I had a total of 12 injections in 1 1/2 yrs. I also took the Add Back Therapy (Norithendrone) to help with the bone loss and hot flashes and stuff. I have a friend that swears Lupron saved her from having a hyst. She never had severe side effects and was for the most part happy while on it. Me on the other hand, I experienced every side effect to the extreme. My migraines were more frequent and intense. I was extremely moody and cranky ~ all the time. My hot flashes and night sweats were unbearable. All in all I was flat out miserable. If I had a choice today of whether or not to take it... I wouldn't. But that's just been my experience with it. There have been plenty of women who loved Lupron and would do it again and again. The only think I would suggest is read up on it as much as you possibly can. Know what the "what if's" and "could happen's" are before you jump into it. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for your post Cassidy. Hope you are feeling well and recovering quickly. You and I are very close in age. I am 27 and have 3 previous lap procedures.

My advice to you would be don't, don't, don't!! I was only able to take 3 shots of Lupron, and by that point I was seriously depressed, emotional, and thought I was going crazy! The sad part about it was that I really pushed to be on Lupron after my laproscopic surgery to remove endometriomas and endometriosis. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't put myself through it. My sister knew a girl that had absolutely no problems on Lupron and that was what made me think I wouldn't have any either. Whatever you decide, good luck. Just make sure you get all the info on Lupron before you start it.

Lupron timing

I was told that before my surgery I will need two shots of Lupron. Can someone tell me if it matters where in my cycle I need to have the shot (or does it matter). I guess what I'm asking is can I have my first shot while I'm having my period.
