5-1/2 months post op - Why all of a sudden am I so tired again?

I am 5-1/2 months post op and for the last couple of months I seemed to be feeling "normal" again. Now for the past two weeks, I feel exhausted. I am taking 50,000 IU of Vitamin D (this is the feeling I get when my Vitamin D has been low in the past). I have been stressed out lately, but this seems more than stress. I know they say 6 months to a year to heal, but why all of a sudden am I so tired again? Can anyone help?

Re: 5-1/2 months post op - Why all of a sudden am I so tired again?

Could it be, the more 'normal' you feel, the more you do...causing the increase in tiredness? Maybe your body is telling you to take a break, and lounge around this weekend if you can.

I'm not as far out, so I'm sorry I don't have any real pearls of wisdom for you.
I hope you get your zip back soon

That's part of my problem. I'm so tired by the weekend that all I want to do is sleep.

What about possible low iron? Maybe get your hb checked? Just a thought

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. I'm really shaky, too. Feels like I've had a ton of caffeine when I haven't had any more than usual and I feel hungry all the time. We'll see what she says.

I am with Eilju - I'd get your iron checked. I was at 6 and didn't even know it (8 is considered possibly life threatening). I just thought I was tired due to life events, not that I was internally bleeding (hence the hysto). I'm definately have then check that...

Re: 5-1/2 months post op - Why all of a sudden am I so tired again?

OOOOHHH...I have to chime in on this one!!! I'm 5 months post LSH...got to keep my ovaries. Over the last 2 months, I have started matching my menopausal sister symptom for symptom, except that the emotional roller coaster will drop your stomach faster than anything Disney can keep up with...and I'm pretty sure I am personally responsible for any recent global warming issues!!!
Made an appt. with my doctor to check this out - we did hb and tsh in April as part of yearly exam (did those b/c I turned 40 and she checks everything)...hopefully we can both come back on here soon and say we've figured it out!
Best of luck with your appointment - keep us posted - GREAT THOUGHTS GOING OUT TO YOU!!

Re: 5-1/2 months post op - Why all of a sudden am I so tired again?

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 6 months ago. My general practioner attributed it to the Lupron Injections I was given for endometriosis. I was extremely tired, emotional, weight gain, and my hair was extremely brittle. I have been on Synthroid for 6 months and feel much better. I was tired following my hysterectomy (now 7 weeks post-op) but am doing great now. I would have your doctor test your TSH, T3, and T4.

Re: 5-1/2 months post op - Why all of a sudden am I so tired again?

I had all sorts of lab work done and am waiting on the results. My doctor thinks my symptoms could be all menopausal. I've been taking Remifemin for 3 months because I didn't have much for symptoms and because I've had a blood clot in my leg previously. We decided to try Estradiol and pray I don't get a blood clot. I'm low risk but having had a blood clot the risk is always there. We'll see what the blood tests show.
