Baby steps towards scheduling surgery

Over the last several weeks that I've known I've needed to do this surgery once and for all...

I'd never gone for a second opinion, as the hysterectomy has been suggested before and I really do trust my doc implicitly. I've explored and tried the options, which eventually failed, but was getting caught up by going with the doc who's supposed to be "the best" to do it, who's also out of network. Kind of freaking out, as it was impossible to determine what my responsibility would be until after the surgery.

I took a different approach to a second opinion. I pulled up gyn/onc names in my insurance that are also on the DaVinci website and explained my concern to my doc and asked if he could recommend any of the other names that he felt would be a good fit.

Medical assistant said he completely understood and recommended that I go with the Director of Gyno/Cancer at another hospital in the area. I've got a call in and I'm hoping they can fit me in quickly.

For someone who's got high anxiety over this, I've let this waiting period go on too long.... and just want to get it done.

I think doctors completely understand the need to stay within the network for something like this. Far better than finding out after the fact that you owe thousands of dollars. You did the right thing.
