LSH Sisters

I would like to hear how others are feeling who have had an LSH. I feel like I recovered fairly quickly and listened to all of the do's and don'ts. I am almost 6 weeks out but am still having what feels like menstrual cramps daily and still some sharp stabbing pain. It is also extremely sensitive especially to the touch between my belly button and pubic bone. When I went for my one month check the doctor said it was due to bruising still from the surgery. I don't know if this is normal or not. I was under the impression that this surgery has a quicker recovery and should be back to feeling normal by now. Just wondering how others were feeling at this time in recovery.

Re: LSH Sisters

Hi Devoted2family,

I also had a LSH.

I had healing twinges around my cervix area. Lasted until the (6) week mark for me. After I had finished my prescription meds, I used OTC tylenol for any discomfort. My Dr. told me the cervical twinges were due to healing from surgery.

Please do not beat yourself up about your recovery time. We Hyster Sisters...no matter what type of hyst we have ...all heal at different rates. We only have one chance to get our recovery right..so just take all the time you need.

Best wishes~

Mary

Re: LSH Sisters

Hi,

I'm 7 mths post op from a LSH, kept ovaries and cervix. I think 4 mths was when I truly felt myself again. At 6 mths I even felt better. I still get twinges down low, like were my cervix is. I also still get like phantom cramping (?) when I'm due for my period. I'm one of the few that still has some very mild spotting when I'm due for my period, and it doesn't happen every month.

Your body has been through alot and even though the outside is healed it takes months for the inside to heal.

Remember to be kind to yourself, your body has been through a lot.

Re: LSH Sisters

I am so glad you asked these questions. I was just about to write the same thing. I had my LSH on March 18th (kept cervix, right ovary removed). Today I am feeling terrible. I have a lot of pain in my left side where I had my ovary removed. It feels very much like the pain I felt before surgery. I also have some major twinges or sharp quick pains all over my pelvic area. I too have cramps and I think it's probably the week I should have my period. I am on my feet all day and I am sure that is not helping (teacher). I know it takes time, but I just feel frustrated tonight. So thank you devoted2family I needed to hear from someone who feels the same right now.
