March 14 surgery - scared!

I wish I had found this site earlier than tonight. I have to get a bag packed still tonight and make sure I have everything gathered up. Luckily I don't have to check in til 10 a.m. tomorrow morning and surgery is at 1 p.m.

I am STARVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ate a heavy lunch Saturday and a light dinner Saturday around 7 p.m. and have had nothing since. My doctor told me to eat clear foods today. She said to limit stuff with red food coloring. So I ate about two bites of a jello but didn't want SWEET so it was gross. Also felt guilty since it was red. LOL. I ate about half a can of chicken broth. That's it for today. I have a headache now because I need food with substance. Watching my hubby and kids eat and snack all day long.... this part is hard!

Another part that was difficult was the bowel cleanse stuff you have to drink. OMG. That is some nasty, gross stuff! I added the lemon packet they give you plus two more Crystal Light Lemonade. It was still gross. I was supposed to drink the whole thing... four liters... in 2 hours. Well I'm proud of myself that I got it all down for one thing and for another that it only took 2 and a half hours. Close enough, I hope. You know what else? I only took a ten minute break while drinking it to do laundry! I was literally sitting on the couch (or on the throne the last hour) sipping away non-stop. I think it's IMPOSSIBLE to drink 4 liters in 2 hours! Owell. I can say that I AM CLEANED OUT people! LOL. My butt hurts. I'm using tucks pads and preparation-H cream.

Can't wait until this is all over and done. I told my husband I want him to go through a drive thru on the way from work to the hospital tomorrow and get me some FOOD. My mom and sister are going to the hospital with me.

Anyways... wish me luck. Thanks for this site. I will be back in a few days (I HOPE!) looking at the POST OP tips.
