Re: I'm not sure if I will be bleeding at all after the hysterectomy.

It's only been 3 weeks for me and I'm doing great also. I hope you have the same type of experience I've had. I didn't have anything more than spotting and that didn't start until a few days after I'd been home. Only needed the light day pads. I also haven't needed hormones yet. I've had some night sweats but nothing too awful and I'd had them the last couple years when I started menopause. Good luck to you tomorrow and we'll all be waiting when you return

Re: I'm not sure if I will be bleeding at all after the hysterectomy.

Hi Catrinia, The news just keeps getting better and better. I didn't think I would hear from anyone else tonight, but here you are in Cafornia. yeah! Someone is still awake! Thank you. I can't take hormones because my mom took DES when she was pregnant with me and it was supposed to be a miracle drug which turned into a nightmare for the mothers and their children. My sister died of a cancer that mostly effected much older women and she was only 26 when she got it, but that was over 30 yrs ago. Treatment has come a long way since then. Still, DES exposed daughters are 4 times likely to get breast cancer than other women plus many other problems. If you'd like more information, you can check it out on line. Anyway, thanks for your reply. Yes, I will be returning!

Re: I'm not sure if I will be bleeding at all after the hysterectomy.

You're probably getting ready for your trip to the hospital now. I thought I'd be a nervous wreck the day of my surgery. Mine was at noon and I had to be there at 10. The good news is that once you get there, things seem to move fairly fast. I ended up not being as nervous as I'd expected and I hope you won't be either.

I'm familiar with DES and the problems that went along with it. I'm very sorry about your sister.

I'm excited for this day for you and I truly hope your surgery and recovery goes as smoothly as mine has.
