Mood swings...3...2....1...ACTION!

So I have no idea if this is the menoapuase starting to kick in or just me getting super frustrated at this point in my recovery wanting to do more than I am able and going a little stir crazy with cabin fever. My husband has been over the top with taking care of me, cooking all meals and not letting me do ANYTHING. Don't get me wrong, I so appreciate it but it does take a toll when I am not used to having down time. I don't like it. I'm bored. I'm getting whiney.
Anyway, our kids have been ok in helping...not over the top and still a bit like pulling teeth but in their heads they are doing tons. Especially my teenage girls (who are BOTH on their cycle right now...ugh) So this morning I walk past thier bathroom and o....m....gsh. Horrible. So I ask can they please at some point today clean it up. You would have thought I asked them to build a pyramid. Normally, I can brush off thier attitude but out of the blue, totally against my personality, I lost it. I started sobbing and telling them it is like they don't care at all about what I am going through.
HUH? I almost didn't recognize the words coming out of my mouth! They were looking at me like I was an alien and quickly started cleaning. Seeing their reaction and how crazy they thought I was...I then started laughing hysterically. That of course confused them even more prompting them to ask if I was ok and if they needed to call dad. ROFL
Where the heck did that come from?? Is this what I and my family have to look forward to? LOL I am choosing not to do hormones and hope I am able to manage things as they come but this came out of left field!
So anyone else have any experiences like this? Were my hormones masking a whole other person everyone is about to meet? LOL

Your hormones weren't exactly masking anything, they're just a part of you. Not having them won't mean a permanent personality change, but a temporary one is likely while your body adjusts. Hormones affect just about everything, so it's a huge thing for your body to figure out what to do without them.

Thanks! I am trying to face everyday and the changes with a sense of humor and while I did end up laughing about it, there was a sense of concern as to just how different it felt. I am sure this is one of many moments that will throw me for a loop but I suppose being the first it will stand out to both me and my girls (who are now walking on eggshells might I add. ROFL) I tried to assure them I really am not turning into Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Re: Mood swings...3...2....1...ACTION!

At about two weeks, my teenage daughters walked into the house causing the dog to bark incessantly. I commanded from the couch that they scold the dog firmly to hush since my insides jumped in pain at the surprise of their arrival and the barking dog. One of them said, "mom, calm down." I totally lost it and started crying about how they do not understand what I have been through and the pain I was experiencing.
It was so emotional. I was so emotional. Usually I just get up and take care of it, but with the inability to do what I usually do I could not contain my feelings. Once you can do what you usually do, it will probably be less emotional. Teenagers are usually the emotional ones. They handled it pretty well.
