tight feeling around incision

I would appreciate any feedback. I am four and 11/2 weeks postop. My incision looks like it has healed pretty well and my doctor said at almost 3 weeks that I had quite a bit of swelling but still normal. My concern is how tight my incision feels, like the stitches are really pulling. Is this just part of the healing process? Also, when I press on my incision I really feel a ridge where the internal stitches must be. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think what you are feeling is really a normal part of the healing process. When I was new post-op, and was suffering from swelly belly, the insicion felt like it would pop open some days, but never did.
Hope it gets better for you really soon.

I also felt plenty of pulling, like the skin around the incision was really tight. In fact, I have that feeling again since my recent surgery.

I have that tightness and pulling feeling, too. I feel like I walk like an old lady, all hunched over. My hubby says I'm standing and walking straighter, but I still feel like I'm going to rip open if I stand straight and tall. My tah was on 9-27. This site is great. I'm feeling wonderful compared to so many other sisters and not as well as some others. It only goes to show how individual we all are. God bless!

About a week ago I was also still walking like an old lady. When I went to Walmart I finally understood old people and that they CAN'T go any faster than they already do, so now I am much more compassionate towards them. This week however, I am walking almost normal. Yahoo!!!! I guess it just takes patience. As far as the pulling, I feel it inside when I walk and it's from my doctor pulling everything back up. It just takes time to heal.
