Surgery June 29th TVH, TVT

I was sure hoping I would feel better than I do. Everytime I stand up after laying down I have to run to the bathroom before I have an accident. I have stopped using the pain meds but had to add an antibiotic from a temp I was running a couple of days after surgery. I sure hate that mini basketball in my tummy, it makes things so uncomfortable. I haven't had a bm yet either and I'm hoping once I do I will feel better. I didn't eat much of anything that first few days after surgery so I'm sure my bowels are trying to rev up again. I can't seem to sleep for more than two hours at a time, then I wake up and go to the bathroom. Another strange side effect of the surgery is that my close vision has gotten really bad. I have to take my glasses off to see my computer screen. My sister-in-law gave me some cross stitch patterns to do and I can't wear my glasses while I do that either. I just have to keep reminding myself that each day I have under my belt is a day closer to feeling better.

Have you tried doing some kegel exercises to help with the urinary urgency? Also, did you call the doc to see if he wants to check for UTI?

You really should contact your doctor if you haven't had a BM by this time. To not go for this length of time is really not healthy to begin with, but to let it continue could put your healing tissues in jeopardy.
