me too

hi cha cha
i'm going in on the 16th too TAH. i know exactly how your feeling. all these emotions bouncing around. but not too many more days and it will be done and we'll be looking at it from a different perspective.(just resting and healing.) i think that the waiting is harder..because we're doing a count down and it's slow going.

what time of the day is your surgery booked for?
i'm booked for at noon. glad it's not too late in the day.

there's quite a few of us booked for that day. must be a good day for a hyst...they'll be able to get us out by the weekend (i hope)

i've been keeping myself busy, not as to wear myself out but mentally busy. and trying to do things that i enjoy.

tonight i'm going to give myself a little shave...the nurse had suggested(sp?) to have a partial shave as the tape will hurt when they have to remove post-op(the dr isn't shaving) the shave has to be at least 4 days prior to surgery, because if you give yourself a little nick they will cancel the op....i think that i just might ask dh if he would like to assist hehe ;-)

good luck with your hyst..chacha...i'll be thinking and praying for you and all of the other sisters that are going in that day
it's a comfort to know that you and i are not the only ones(sorry but it's a comfort to know that)

blessings
wilbe

I'm having my bladder tucked, too:)

I'm also having a Birch procedure- aka bladder sling- so I hope that, not only will I not have killer cramps and flooding anymore, I can stay dry My dr. has told me I'll go home w/a supra pubic catheter- they make a small incision above where the incision for the bladder repair is, and insert the catheter directly into the bladder. The good thing @ this kind of catheter is, you can clamp it and try to urinate on your own, sort of re-train your bladder- my other choice was to self- catheterize myself every time- no thanks Dr. said the catheter should come out in @ a wk. Reason for the catheter is, during surgery, your bladder gets pretty bruised and usually won't work on it's own for a while. I told him, as long as you get this uterus out, I don't care WHAT else you have to do Good luck

Oct 16th too.

Hi,
I wanted to let you know, I'm feeling the same way, I'm scheduled for the 16th too, when I went on the 11th for my pre-op it really hit me. It's so close.

I've made me a "packing" list. I saw that someone had posted on the pull down menu. You may want to look at that. Although I have to say, some of the stuff she suggested I don't think I'm gonna be in the mood for. but each of us is different. One thing I did think was a good idea for thank you gifts for the nurses (she called them suck-up gifts), I figure the nicer you are to them the nicer they'll be to you. I've bought some cute little Teddy Bears and Thank You cards, so I'm ready.

Well, good luck to all of you.
See you on the other side with crowns on.

Huggs to you all
