Red Letter Day

Hi,

I got a letter through the post yesterday confirming the date for my operation - 30th January. I have to go the week before for pre-surgery checks and then I will go into hospital on 29th Jan for my pre-op bowel stuff.

I'm surprisingly quite calm at the moment - well there is 4 weeks to go yet. I will be busy at work right up until I go into hospital as I will have to train someone to do my job whilst I'm off so I am hoping that will keep my mind off it.

Did a bit of retail therapy yesterday after getting the letter.

I love the "retail therapy" term - hate to shop myself, but that's hilarious. Lots of things in the US medical system w/ cost containment haven't been that great, but I gotta say I'd FARRRRRRRRR rather do any bowel prep myself at home. We do that one right! I'm still of the theory though that they should just knock you out and do the surgery the minute you decide to so you don't have so long to worry and dread the whole thing! I scheduled mine a month early and I've thought about it way more than I wanted to - now only about a week to go and I'm practically wishing this week of my life away - I'm SO ready to get this over with! Hope your month passes faster and with less concern than mine - of course, perhaps you have the cure since I haven't really done the "retail therapy" thing!
