SottoPelle, anyone?

Hello! I'm considering trying something new, and I'd like to hear feedback from sisters who are using or have used the Sottopelle pellets. I'd like to know if the insertion was painful, if you had any reaction, did it control your symptoms, and how it generally worked in comparison to the other therapies you've used. Thanks!

I was 38 when I had my TAH/BSO and I have tried everything. The estrace pills worked the best, but I had to take about 2.5mg - 3mg a day. The patch was the worst. My estrogen level dropped to 22 and I was miserable. It wasn't until I started having terrible bladder pain, diagnosed with IC and saw a Uro/Gyn specialist in IC that I discovered pellet therapy. He is from the UK and said they use pellet therapy much more over there. I am now on my 2nd insertion of 75mg of estradiol and I feel normal! I havn't been able to find any other doc in my area that dose pellet insertions. American docs need to get with it. The first insertion I had back in January was only 50mg and it was great for about a month, but after about 10 weeks I need more estrogen. Last week I had my 2nd insertion, this time 75mg of estradiol. It doesn't hurt. They numb the area up so you don't feel anything. It is a tiny cut they make on your hip/upper buttock area. Because I am now absorbing more estrogen, my allergies are better, my sex drive is back, my hair is growing back and my bladder no longer hurts. If you have a doc that will do the pellets, I say try it out. Good luck.

I too, have had the pellets inserted for the second time. I was getting injections. The 1st set lasted about 2 months and includes test. I do have stress and anxiety in my life , so it may be burning it up quicker. A big Smile to everyone Birdie
