How have you been without ovaries?

I had the same concerns being only 30. I am now 3 weeks post-op and am taking Estratest for HRT. I have not had any mood swings or hot flashes and feel better than I have in a long time. Good luck!

How have you been without ovaries?

Nearly three weeks after having everything removed all I have is minor hot flashes. I am not on any type of hormone replacement because of having severe endometriosis and my Mom passing because of breast cancer.
Actually as far as my moods are, I have never felt better emotionally except for when I was on Lupron for 6 months. Seems my hormones have been reaking havoc on me for all my adult life and I never realized it until I was on Lupron. Now that I have no ovaries I feel fantastic. Sexually, I am counting the days till me and hubby can be one again. giggle....

How have you been without ovaries?

Had my TAH-BSO 1/20/04. Using Climara .1mg patch and so far, so good! No hot flashes, night sweats or moodiness. I'm actually sleeping better than I did before surgery. I just hope this isn't the calm before the storm!

Good luck!

How have you been without ovaries?

TAH/BSO was 5 weeks ago.

I got hit with the whole she-bang a couple of weeks ago. Mood swings, depression, hot flashes etc. The Ortho-est I had been taking right after surgery wasn't enough. Doctor put me on an additional dose of Estratest every day. So far that seems to do the trick. Hot flashes are easing off, mood is improving. Only thing I'm dealing with now is the fatigue, libido (I've been cleared since 4 weeks), and headaches. Once my levels get more stable, I'm hoping the other issues either clear themselves up, or we'll adjust as needed to get me where I need to be.

There is so much out there, just find what works for you.

Thank you!

I wanted to thank all of you for the information! This is something that really scares me. I will not be able to take anything for a few months according to my Dr, so of course I am worried. I did read on another post about an estrogen suppository that did not interfere with endo? I will have to check into that a little more. I have felt so embraced since my first post here. I don't know where I would be without hyster sisters!! Still very, very confused I know! Thanks again to all of you!
Hugs, Christy
