Can't decide what to do...concerned about "longevity"
Hello,
I've been under the care of a ob and endochrinologist for 4 yrs dt premature ovarian failure. I'm 38. Hrt works good for me when my ovaries aren't pretending they work and I'm not on progesterone! I am unable to almost coordinate one foot infront of the other and mean irritable after day 6 of prog. Bleeding is profuse and leaves me very anemic every month or so...ob said it is finally time for a hyst d/t quality of life issues (I was relieved b/c I'm tired of dealing with it all)
"We" worked through that I would be bleed free and could just take out the ovaries(fam hist of ov. cancer) that are only causing me problems anyway and rely on the leveling effects of the HRT that works good for me already. (and "yeah!" no more progesterone!)
So, at first I think...great, no more bleeding, let the meds stabilize me as they already do when my ovaries "shut up".
Then 2nd, after research, I think oh no, the androgens will cause breast cancer, and noone else favors surgury anymore!
I see a carrot in front of me, I am now told that the carrot "might" be tainted and I am not sure what to do, but...I want that carrot!!!
TIA!,
Stephanie
