End Of Rope

I know i get on here and complain alot about surgery you know the TAH but it has been over 4 months so far i have had a hernia repair and was tested positive for intersticial cystitis and now i am scheduled for a A/P Repair the 7th of april. Meanwhile my whole urinary sytem has been completely torturef drom medding eith my blagger during the TAH still i have tremendous pressure and pain cannot deal with not even on pain meds its horrible i have to go every 15 min and it hurts so much pressure down there now i cannot do any of my day to day things and last week fell over a ladder and the other ladder stabbed me in incision burning and tearing pain ever since but dr must think i'm addicted to surgery and won't even deal with new injury until next procedure is healed by then i feel like alll of the muscle that hold your gut togethter are going to fall out or tear apart into little peices down there. If anyone has been through or had a A/P Repair can you tell me what recovery will be like i am so scared of being cut again i do not know how i will convince myself to even show up this time.

Hi,

I am sorry you have been through so much and have pain and more surgery to come.

I have had the posterier repair and needed to sit on pillow for a few weeks. A donut pillow would have helped. It will help to drink lots of water, eat fiber, and walk to keep things going. I used a stool softener for several weeks as well. I took pain meds for a while and then took Motrin because the perscription meds constipated me too much. I tend to go that way anyhow.

I would discuss all of this with dr before you have surgery and see what he wants you to take . I found it uncomfortable, but am glad to have had the surgery.

I have not had the anterior repair , but a lot have had this. You might do a Search at the top of the page to read what others say about anterior and rectocele repairs.

Best wishes on your surgery. Hopefully this will get you back on a more healthy and painfree life.
