6 weeks post up- slow recovery

Just letting my hyster sisters know that I already made my 6 weeks but still not feeling well. I went to see my Dr. he says I'm recovering well but slow. I got his ok to start bending and I began and the back of my knees hurt really bad when I bend. I guess I am super rusty from not bending at all in the 6 weeks. My doctor had to cut into my abdominal muscle during surgery so he says that my recovery would be longer. I still feel tired at times and the incision is still sore at times. I also get spasms at incision. Can anyone relate to the spasms? I am worried because I have to get back to work and my boss is not so sympathetic, I am hoping that I can go back to feeling ok before I go in. This site has been very helpful to me. It is like a shoulder to lean on. Thank you very much to all.

Re: 6 weeks post up- slow recovery

Sometimes recovery is slow...I missed 10 weeks of work instead of the original 4 weeks that I had scheduled! Don't get frustrated. Just know that everyone heals at their own pace and your body will let you know when it is okay to start doing more!

I had the spasms at my incision as well....still do every now and then. My told me it was the nerve endings growing back together and it was completely normal.

I wish you the best of luck in the rest of your recovery and hope you get to feeling fabulous very soon!!! Just remember to take it easy and take it one day at a time.

Thanks for your reply Traeleigh I don't feel as bad now knowing that I am not alone. Recovery for me has been slow and I am just going to try to do things at a slower pace and pray that I recover quicker.

Hugs to my hyster sister

Re: 6 weeks post up- slow recovery

To all of my hystersisters that had surgery the ending of July just wondering how you are all doing I am getting ready to enter my 8th week post op and have to go to work next week. I am feeling a bit nervous. I am still feeling a bit of pain and sore at the incision. I still feel tired after over doing it. Is anyone feeling the same at the 8th week or is it just me. Hope that you are all doing well. Have a great weekend. I wish I was working from home I would be more relaxed...

Hi Traci,
I am better as the days go by. I am just having a weird tickly feeling inside at times and dizzy spells if I get up to quick. I am still swollen as well. I am hoping the swelling goes away my jeans don't fit. I have to start work this Monday and hope that all goes well. I will keep in touch. Have a great weekend....
