1 day post Robotic hysterectomy: how long does the gas last?

Hey everybody!!! I'm new here. I'm 1 day post op I had a davinci robotic system hysterectomy. Did any of you ladies have the davinci robot? This gas is horrible. How long does this gas problem last?

For me it was 4 days. A heating pad helped a ton. I would put it on my shoulder (where the pain was worst). I swear it became my security blanket.

The pain meds also helped - I'm off all pain meds now at 2 wks 4 days. I loved them so much for those first days.

Good luck! It does get better - but holy crow did it hurt so bad.

Mine took 3 days to go away. Heating pads, gas-x and walking helped me.

I had daVinci, but I didn't really have the gas pain everyone talked about.My nurse told me that my surgeon was good about getting as much of it out before she closes you up. So I assume that helped as well as gas x and dulcolax faithfully for the first week just to stay on top of it.I am sorry you are in pain.

I did not have any gas to speak of. My doctor too did a good job of removing as much CO2 as possible. I also had very little bowel gas and I did not take gas x like many do. I did take stool softeners but i was also on probiotics which helps cut down gas in the gut.

I'm 1 wk post-op. My gas comes & goes but the first few days the worst. Try to walk & drink warm lemon water.

Walking helps a ton! Mines lasted a couple of days. The gas pain was really the only pain I had after the davinci

I'm on day 6 & still having problems with it, but my sister pointed out that some of that could now be due to my blended juice diet over the past 5 days. I've been taking extra strength Gas X. It's helped some. A few times I thought I grew back my uterus & had horrible menstrual cramps again.
