6wks post op and heard 'granuals' mentions and was cauterized

Since I was still having vaginal pressure at 6wks I called the doctor to be seen a week earlier than my scheduled appointment.

He said so much while "down there" I sort of had my mind on the extreme pressure somewhat pain he was causing so I didn't really listen to what he said.

He did talk a lot while at his job and some of what he said is just coming to me. He said I still had a couple stitches that hasn't dissolved yet. He cauterized and he kept saying 'granulation' or something like that. He also said "no sex" for a week or two longer

So can someone please explain what granulation meant in regards to the hysterectomy?

I am hoping the cauterizing was to stop the discharge I still have.....worried about the pressure I still feel. I just want to be normal again!

I had granulation and cauterization at 12 wks po. I even had 2 stitches left. This recovery can be very confusing especially since all the brochures say you'll be 120% in 2 wks!! Ha! Here is an article that really helped me understand what it all meant. Hope this helps sister ! Vaginal Cuff Granulation.

Very informative article..thank you! I do go back next Tuesday (7th week post op) and I hope I won't be tortured this check up I did tell the doctor that he is usually so kind when I see him...lol

I have always heard that 6wks all will be healed and life would be getting back to normal. They lied..lied I say..ha ha I am ready to get back to my pre-hysterectomy life..well minus the periods and prolapse pain
